An email delivery service basically does exactly what it says on the tin: it delivers emails for you.
No matter what hosting service you use, one of the included features will be email delivery. In other words, your WordPress website can already deliver emails, via your hosting service. If you forget the password to your site and request a password reset email, that’s how the email reaches you. WordPress sends it from your own hosting account.
